For the PDP module we were asked to design a piece of furniture that would connect with the consumers. for this my final design is Suí Suas, a contemporary high stool for the kitchen counter.

Suí Suas was designed and made in the heart of Connemara, being a fluent Irish speaker i felt it was a good idea to give it an Irish name, this is where Suí Suas came from, it is the Irish meaning for "sit up" as it is a high stool. i wanted to have a modern looking stool, while keeping with the traditional woodworking techniques, this is where my connection with my stool was developed, having a stool that was designed and made in connemara yet with a sleek, modern, stylish look to it and being constructed wit traditional wedged mortise and tennon joinery. the wedges and seat are both ebonized oak, i feel the contrast between the two colours makes the stool stand out.
