A Cheaper alternative to 5-Axis Cnc's

Using 5-Axis cnc's to create beautiful 3D wooden objects is a luxury that can be enjoyed by few people with the money to own a 5-axis cnc. However with the growing use of robotic arms and the increasing quality of them they are becoming a viable option for 5-axis machining.

I explored the abilities of the robotic arm as a 5-axis machining tool for my 4th year major project and how to use CAM software to programme them. The results of this project were very positive, the process and results are described and can be seen on YouTube:
