Using contrasting colours and timbers is an effective way of drawing attention to a piece of furniture and catching a persons eye. During my time as a student at Letterfrack I have used contrasting timbers, in particular using white beech and mahogany. This is something that I have liked the look of since I began woodworking and is still an important factor in the pieces I make now.
